In 2008, Mónica joined the training team of Luso Helvética, representative of the Franco-Korean brand in Portugal. And this year already celebrates 10 years of Erborian! At the time, it was all new. The brand had just arrived in Portugal and it was necessary to make known the concept of Korean beauty. Focusing on cleaning as the most important step in the routine was a challenge.
“In Korea, a beauty ritual has about 12 products, most of them used in skin cleansing. Convincing Portuguese consumers that it was not enough to wipe their faces with milk and a toner was a challenge. Nowadays, we have loyal clients who make a very complete beauty routine: oil cleansing, cleansing foam, scrub, tonic lotion and mask. When I meet a client of these, I feel very proud, I confess!”, says Monica Raínho while smiling.
CC Cream the Loved One by Men and Women
Monica is a well-known face among some Erborian fans. Responsible for promoting the brand in several points of sale, has very pleasant conversations during the mini-facials that she preforms. That’s when she discovers fascinating curiosities.
“A few years ago, I was in an action at a perfume shop when I was surprised by a fan of the brand. I finished the mini-soin with CC Cream and she said softly, ‘You know, my husband loves this product.’ I thought she meant the finish on her skin, which looked very beautiful and suited her well … But no! He loved to apply the product to his skin’”, begins to remind Monica Raínho.
“At the time, it was a revelation to me. I asked her why and she told me that her husband had redness and that color cream was so discreet and handsome that he applied it in the morning to disguise it. The truth is that no one noticed that he was applying a CC Cream and he felt confident”, she recalls.
“Nowadays, there is CC Homme, which is a version of CC Cream, but with matte finish. I believe that, across Europe, several husbands steal CC Cream from their wives”, adds the beauty expert.
Erborian, a brand that falls in love by difference
Nowadays, although it is considered of niche, the brand Erborian is well rooted in Portugal. It all started with CC Cream. “It’s still one of the products that fascinates me most. You can already find several brands with the same effect. However, at the time it was released, it was an unprecedented innovation!”, says Monica.
The Erborian CC Cream à La Centella Asiatica is a cream with color, of whitish texture. When it is spread on the skin, it acquires a warm tone. With some coverage, it has a Color Control (CC) technology that camouflages the imperfections related to skin tone. In addition, you still have the benefit of having SPF25. “It’s still a bestseller in this category and I think it’s going to be for years!”, says Monica.
Erborian has about 40 products with fabulous textures, formulated based on 7 medicinal herbs from the Korean pharmacopoeia. In addition, the brand has French know-how to achieve the cosmetic pleasantness that we are accustomed to.
