The brand’s story began with Albert Ducray, the son of a dermatologist and a hairdresser, who recognised that the harsh cleansing products commonly used at the time could weaken hair and compromise its natural beauty. Inspired by this observation, he developed LIK, an innovative range of single-dose shampoos adapted to different hair types, laying the foundations for a new approach to haircare.

A defining moment came in 1969, when Ducray joined Pierre Fabre Laboratories, strengthening its scientific research capabilities and accelerating the development of specialised dermatological products. This collaboration led to innovations such as the iconic Extra-Doux Shampoo, designed for frequent use while respecting the balance of the scalp.

During the 1980s, Ducray expanded its expertise beyond haircare with the introduction of Ictyane, a pioneering skincare range dedicated to dry skin. This marked the beginning of the brand’s evolution into a comprehensive dermatological laboratory addressing both hair and skin needs.

Today, Ducray offers an extensive portfolio of targeted solutions, including Anaphase and Anacaps for hair vitality, Kelual and Squanorm for dandruff-prone scalps, Keracnyl for blemish-prone skin, Ictyane for dry skin and Dexyane for very dry and eczema-prone skin.
