Founded in the United States in 2005, CeraVe is a dermatologist-developed skincare brand dedicated to restoring, protecting and maintaining the skin’s natural protective barrier through effective, science-driven formulations.

The brand’s story began with a fundamental dermatological observation: many common skin concerns, including dryness, sensitivity, eczema-prone skin and acne-prone skin, are associated with alterations in the skin barrier. Recognising the essential role of ceramides in maintaining skin integrity, CeraVe developed an innovative approach to everyday skincare.

At the heart of this innovation is a combination of three essential ceramides (1, 3 and 6-II), naturally occurring lipids that help replenish the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss. This technology is complemented in selected formulations by MultiVesicular Emulsion (MVE) Technology, a patented delivery system designed to gradually release moisturising ingredients for long-lasting hydration.

Beginning with three essential products — Moisturizing Cream, Moisturizing Lotion and Hydrating Facial Cleanser — CeraVe has evolved into a comprehensive skincare brand offering targeted solutions for different skin types, ages and concerns.
